This Privacy Policy describes how Rock Industrial Solutions Limited ("RISL", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the RISL Living Competency System. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Name, email address, and employer details provided at enrolment.
• Payment information: Payment is processed by Stripe. RISL does not store credit card numbers or full payment details — only transaction confirmation data.
• Examination data: Question responses, scores, attempt timestamps, and certification outcomes for each enrolled worker.
• Usage data: Session activity, page visits, and interaction data collected to maintain platform performance.
• Communications: Emails sent to or received from RISL contact addresses.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To activate and manage your enrolment and access.
• To generate and issue Certificates of Competency or Participation Certificates.
• To provide employer administrators with worker certification status and progress data.
• To send transactional communications — enrolment confirmation, certificate delivery, expiry reminders.
• To maintain, improve, and secure the platform.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not use personal information for advertising purposes.

3. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
• Resend: Transactional email delivery. Resend processes email addresses to deliver platform communications.
• Employer administrators: When a worker is enrolled by an employer, the employer administrator can view that worker's certification status, scores, and certificate for the enrolled subject areas.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or court order.

4. Data Retention

Worker examination records and issued certificates are retained for the duration of the certificate's validity period plus one additional year, to support certificate verification requests. Account information is retained while the account is active and for a period of 2 years following last activity. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us, subject to legal retention obligations.

5. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial legislation, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent for non-essential communications.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. The platform is hosted on Netlify with HTTPS enforced across all pages. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe under PCI-DSS compliance standards.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The platform uses session-based functionality to maintain your login state and examination progress. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or behavioural tracking cookies. Basic analytics may be collected to monitor platform performance and uptime.

8. International Users

The RISL platform is designed for users in Canada, the United States, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Caribbean. If you are accessing the platform from outside these regions, your information may be processed in Canada. By using the platform, you consent to this processing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision.
