These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RISL Living Competency System, including the training refresher platform, competency examinations, and certificates of competency issued by Rock Industrial Solutions Limited ("RISL", "we", "us"). By subscribing or accessing any part of the platform, you agree to these Terms.
The RISL Living Competency System is an exam preparation and competency verification platform covering Red Seal trades and SMRP reliability certifications. Each enrolment provides one worker with 30 days of access to study material and the competency examination for the registered subject area. The platform is not a formal accreditation body and does not replace official Red Seal interprovincial examinations or SMRP credentialing processes.
Access is worker-specific. Each enrolment is registered to a single individual for a single subject area. Sharing access credentials or transferring an enrolment to another individual is not permitted. Access activates immediately upon successful payment and expires 30 days from the activation date.
Subscriptions are billed at $49.95 CAD per worker per subject area per 30-day access period. Annual plans are available at a 20% discount. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes. By providing payment information, you authorise RISL to charge the applicable fees.
Given the digital and immediately accessible nature of the platform, refunds are not available once access has been activated. If you experience a technical failure that prevented access through no fault of your own, contact us at darryl.m@rockindustrialsolutions.com within 48 hours of the issue and we will investigate and resolve it.
Workers who achieve a Tier 1 result (90% or above) receive a Certificate of Competency valid for 2 years from the date of issue. Workers achieving Tier 2 (70–89%) receive a Participation Certificate valid for 6 months. Certificates are issued by RISL and are not issued by, endorsed by, or equivalent to certificates from the Red Seal Program, SMRP, or any regulatory authority. RISL certificates represent verified competency against the RISL standard, which is set above governing body minimums by design.
All platform content, question banks, examination materials, certificates, and proprietary methodologies are the intellectual property of Rock Industrial Solutions Limited. No content may be reproduced, distributed, copied, or transmitted in any form without prior written consent from RISL. Workers may retain and present their own issued certificates for employment and verification purposes.
RISL provides the platform on an "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RISL's total liability to any user shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific enrolment giving rise to the claim. RISL is not liable for any employment decisions, regulatory outcomes, or professional consequences arising from use of platform results or certificates.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
RISL reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. Continued use of the platform after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
